I guess this is some kind of sequel to Dark. Passion. Play., hence the current title. This is one of those things I never planned to do and now I have so time-consuming plans for it that it's becoming highly unlikely I'll ever manage to finish it. (I always say that, I know...)
So, what's the excuse for drawing this guy this time? I was honestly looking for a suitable reference because I really wanted to draw Marco but never found anything. Instead, I saw this picture of Tuomas and got this idea... and you know there is only one way to get rid of these ideas; I simply had to start to draw or it would have haunted me forever. But I could equally well use as an excuse that I must learn to draw hands. Except that I wouldn't be surprised if I skipped finishing that part in the end anyway. And it certainly doesn't harm to try drawing a face from this kind of angle either. I'm still not sure if it's at all right.
Like you probably guessed, this is nowhere near being finished but no one has been moaning about endless sketchy works in my gallery, so I'll keep adding them whenever I quite like what I've managed to do. This is my typical pencil drawing with my digital layer added there to make it less boring. And even if there is reference, I try not to look at it too much and that way make the drawing a bit different from the photo. Btw, there is a black background in the ref photo so his hair is pretty much all improvised.
